Our French Village house

Friends and family are often asking us about our French cottage, so to make life easier for everyone here’s the details:

Outside our french village house

Outside our french village house

This traditional 17th Century Cottage with beamed ceilings is set on a sunny lane in a tranquil village.

The local tea-rooms and historic village church are about 100 yards away and with the village bakery just around the corner, you can wake to the smell of freshly baked bread.

Only 40 minutes from the coast, and close to all amenities, from local lakes to historic abbeys, beautiful walks to cycle routes.

With such a wide array of attractions, you can chose the holiday you want, from action packed and exciting to quiet and tranquil to recharge your batteries and … relax in Brittany

NOTE: The cottage is equipped with everything you could want for your holiday from TV (take your own DVDs/DVD Player)  to microwave,  modern showers and a roaring wood burner, but as reflected by the rental rates this is not a luxury villa – it is a traditional French gite offering a homely and central base ideally placed for exploring the beautiful countryside and sea shores.

Our location

Brittany has around one third of France’s total coastline! From your South/Central position means you are within easy reach of many different beaches, leisure areas and towns. Many superb beaches are to be found close to L’Orient, just 40 minutes away.

40 minutes from the Southern Brittany coast

1.5 hours from Roscoff Port

5 minutes from Lac de Guerledan (bathing, fishing, beaches, water-sports, waterski-ing, windsurfing, etc)

15 minutes from nearest big town “Pontivy”

100 yds from Bar Tabac (also sells groceries and provisions)

Round the corner from village bakery (50yds)

75 yds from Tea Room/Café

30 yds from the church
(All distances/times approximate)

Nice – but it’s NOT luxury

The cottage is equipped with everything you could want for your holiday from TV (bring your own DVDs/DVD player) to microwave, modern showers and a roaring wood burner, but as reflected by the rental rates* this is not a luxury villa – it is a traditional French gite offering a homely and central base ideally placed for exploring the beautiful countryside and sea shores.  There is no garden, though the lane is sunny and we often take a table and chairs outside to eat al-fresco.  There are parks and woodland within a few minutes walk.
